Pinter and Shotoku - Unfinished Business

This track was started by Pinter a few months ago, and he sent it to me to finish it. He forgot to record and edit it, so once I reminded him of it, he allowed me to edit / post it. However, my part was pretty bad at the time, so I recently remade it. Hope you like it!

And I used it in a track back in early '08.

I personally think this track was not very fair as a collab because of the skill level gap between you guys. That being said, I don't think either of you made particularly technically impressive works as far as this track goes, for today's so-called standards (keep in mind I despise the current standards to hell and back). I did, however enjoy watching the track, although I believe the choice of soundtrack was, at best, poor, since there are songs that would highlight the qualities of the track in a much better fashion than this one did.

Bottom line: fun, but should've used another song.

This was started when I was still pretty new around here, back when Pinter was actually better than me xD I just remembered the track recently and wanted to redo my part. I agree it wasn't that impressive, but I don't think that makes it bad (whether you meant to imply that or not). Also, I felt like the song fit the style and flow of the track well, and I would like to know what "highlight the qualities" means, because I want to know how to put better music on tracks. I'm glad that in the end, you liked the track though.

You always should look to conciliate the pace of tricks to the tempo of the song and the speed of the track to the general feel of the song. An example: Slow linear speed track but extremely compact and fast paced (some alt. quirk) -> Use something like drum and bass, as it's quick, intense and it feels like everything gets crammed into the fast beats and bars. There are exceptions to this, obviously, and they usually take the shape of dedicated sync tracks and general oddities, but it is a good rule of thumb if you have a track done and no idea which soundtrack to assign to it.

That pretty good how you two made only one part in a 90 second track, anyways the sync to flow matches fine and the density of the track is good as well; overall that was a really nice track, nice job.
