It's kinda like dividing by zero. You just don't do it.

Uhh... assuming that no gwell glitches are involved... the line goes in between the contact points until one touches him and they react, and grind.

Re: Double Sided Lines
that's why I was considering making his body solid (only for double-sided lines)

Re: Double Sided Lines
Because I'm still focusing on other things right now rather than any other linetypes, I haven't really had time to figure out exactly what I want to do with double sided lines - I think that certain points must always be on the same side of a line as others, like the body and butt points, otherwise bosh falls of the sled.
Re: Double Sided Lines
Hand grinds would still work, just none of that head/butt grind tomfoolery.KillinTime2792 wrote:I wanna hand grind, why must you try and prevent this?
I guess we can have a poll on how bosh would react to getting impaled

Re: Double Sided Lines
I don't like the solid-body idea. It sounds very limiting to me, and some of these new things could be fun.
That being said, I hope sandwiched nose grinds (with the two nose contact points between the lines) don't make nosies obsolete. I also like nosies.

With these double sided lines, I wanna see someone granual one side, then granual the other later in the track.

^ Unfortunately it'll look like they just did a grind =/
This could actually be interesting, if flings, granuals, flanuals, nosies, and basically most other things suddenly became obsolete. It could even happen to alt flings.
I'm... not sure how I feel about this.

Re: Double Sided Lines
Well, I think it'd make for a challenge. Trying to make an impressive track using only basic tricks, the new hangs/grinds, and no quirks. It's almost like Line Rider completely done over.

Re: Double Sided Lines
You could still do individual quirks, I don't think that could be replaced by anything you could do with double-sided lines.

people who don't quirk are like "oh cool then I can ride on both sides"
people who know something about quirking realize that granuals, flanuals, flings suddenly involve no skill to create something very similar

Think of it this way.
It's Line Rider, but it's so radically different that it's a different type of Line Rider altogether. Therefore, it's fine.

"Let's cater purely to the people who abuse the physics engine! Apparently a game about Line Rider should be designed only to meet the needs of those who don't ride lines at all"
I couldn't care less about what's easier or harder if it involves quirking. Find some new quirks to exploit.
(because if there's anything that's "not Line Rider", quirks are it)
Re: Double Sided Lines
I never said I was getting rid of them. Single sided lines still exist - I just couldn't care about the "impact" of double sided lines. I'm sure people will look past preconceptions about what should be "easy" and "hard", given all of the improvements made in Unleashed.
Besides, it's not like you've done anything personally to keep the fan base around.

Re: Double Sided Lines
Er, could you have a "toggle" feature? Turn double sided lines on and off? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Re: Double Sided Lines
I don't see the point in this. If they don't want double sided lines they could just keep the old version.OTDE wrote:Er, could you have a "toggle" feature? Turn double sided lines on and off? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

But the ability to keep both on the same .sol would be nice.

Re: Double Sided Lines
Or, you could just not use them?
Anyways, mhenr came up with a solution that would nerf them a bit, but just in case it's supposed to be secret, I won't blab. DW guys, it's being taken care of.
EDIT: As for "the same .sol", you'll be dealing with .lrt files with individual tracks, but that can be organized in any way you want with, you know, normal folders, if we're talking about mhenr's version. Double-clicking (or file->open?) will open 'em.
