Awesome! The physics look pretty identical, except that his "fakie" mode spins faster.

Btw, I noticed some granual-like things in there, but aren't the lines double sided?

double sided lines basically make "granuals" a lot easier. Of course, like manuals, it takes a bit more effort to make them look pretty (ie not wobbling all over the place)

These are not "granuals", these are what was coined in Unbound as "Grinds"

Granuals are when you manipulate gwells to do a manual on a curved lines. Grinds are when no gwells are used and one of the contact points (or more in this case) hang on to the other side of the line

You have got to teach me how to do this! (with java preferably)

delete your ONEXITSAVE_ file in savedLines. The track data changed, somewhere in between versions

@Ph0enix wrote:You have got to teach me how to do this! (with java preferably)
I don't know Java. It'd be a bit demanding if you want me to teach you how to program. But if you want the algorithm, I can try to explain. But you need to have a good understanding of physics, vector algebra, and geometry.

Cheers, got it working now!

Made a pretty nice track, clicked on the menu to save it and it crashed on me D:

Actually we couldn't figure out Physics. The python was just assigning variables. :P

I watched the video and I am very impressed. Smile I love the nose grind things.

So, right now, I'm trying to figure out how dynamic lines will work. They're basically solid moving lines. I'll call them sticks from now on.
It's actually really frustrating me that I can't derive the formula for the collision response. If anyone understands the connection between angular momentum and linear momentum, talk to me.

Re: Line Rider Python progress thread.

sorry kevan, I'd rather not.

Also, finally got over the physics roadblock for implementing sticksbeams (sticks will be non-colliding version of dynamic lines, ie ordinary constraints. Line Rider and his sled are made of sticks, as fsk originally named them. Something about "beam" makes it sound a lot more solid and rigid than "stick"). Derivation took a lot longer than I anticipated. Darn it angular momentum. I'm really wondering if there was an easier way than a [censored] of vector algebra.
(1+x^2)/(3+x^2), (1+x)/(3+x^2), (1-x)/(3+x^2)

EDIT: lawlJK DAMN IT THESE ARE FOR WHEN THE BEAM IS NOT MOVING brb more derivation

Nice job Conun, I'm thinking of using your code to make an AI that plays linerider over the holidays. Now to decipher the damn thing.

I commented a lot, and it's in python, so it's gonna be a hell lot easier to decipher than fsk's code. But in any case, if you need help with coding something, you can ask me.

Depends, have you ever looked at fsk's code? if you send me the python script as a txt file, I can compare and contrast 8D
