Bit of new UI work - LR now has popover menus that I can use for things. Really starting to enjoy this custom UI stuff now Smile Also, if you're concerned about this being yet another restart, it's not. ALL of the simulation and rendering code from the previous build that's playable on OSX is identical and runs fine. I just have to build a new interface for it all ^_^

This should be up and running on OSX in a week or so, and Windows in another week or so after that. There's nothing in the core game code that's platform specific, but I've made some extensions to the GLFW framework for things like showing the load/save panels which I need to implement individually for each platform.

Yeah they ended up a bit smaller than they should be. I'll fix up the .gfk's later. Just trying to get the performance up on Windows right now, it's quite choppy and I don't know why. Need to run a profiling tool to see what's going on - it could just be that my VM's slow but I doubt it.

Also, there's one issue that a few people will almost certainly run into (Conun hit it on a system with an i5 which is a bit scary), which is that your graphics chip needs to support OpenGL 2.0+, GL_EXT_framebuffer_multisample and GL_EXT_framebuffer_object. If you don't have those three (GL_EXT_framebuffer_multisample isn't strictly needed, but everything looks crap otherwise), Unleashed won't run.

I'll test to make sure it isn't the VM. :V

(i keed i keed /cereal, take your time getting it to perform well. nobody likes a laggy game!)

Anyway, I'm safe w/r/t OpenGL requirements. Go, DX11/GL4 GPU Club! 8D

Okay so I've been getting some people in the stream to test this and a lot of Windows users were having issues. I've now done as much as I can to work around the extensions that I had been using, so it should run on any machine supporting OpenGL 2.1 (I'm no longer using any extensions Very Happy).

If Windows users could DL this: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/49905412/lru_win32.zip and try loading the included track file (Tail.lrt), that'd be fantastic. You should be able to launch the game, load the track and play it. If you can't, I need to know!

Also, if your hardware supports multisampling, LRU will take advantage of it. If not, you won't have any AA for now and things will look fairly rough. If you don't get any antialiasing when you run UL, tell me!

Mac users, every single Intel Mac except for ones with a GMA 950 can play UL (incl. Snow Leopard and maybe even Leopard machines), so there's no point in me getting you guys to try this, especially as the builds *with* the extensions had been working just fine before Smile

I'd get antialiasing if I could draw lines. xD

In fact, not much besides the simulation controls seem to work here. Popover menu doesn't let me click on anything.

Hardware:

i7-2600 @3.4GHz
Radeon HD 6670 1GB
8GB DDR3

I'll try telling avast! to screw off for a moment and see if that does anything.

Never said you'd be able to draw lines aha. The only things that work in the popover are New Track, Load Track... and Quit Game.

I'm duuuuumb. xD

Anyway, getting AA. Great work, mhenr. :P

Also, would be a decent idea to store tracks in a folder under My Games if you aren't already doing so. Most other games do this and it really helps program directory organisation if it isn't flooded with 9001 LRTs.

I don't care where you store your lrt files - I just throw up standard Open/Save panels and let the user put tracks wherever the hell they want. The only reason I put the Tail.lrt file with the game is because I need to give it to you guys somehow lol.

Also, awesome @ it running and you getting AA.

I'm able to start Unleashed, click load, select a tail.lrt, and load it, and the editor shows up but the track and bosh is invisible. I can press play at the track seems to run, but I can't see it. I'm guessing it's running because of the spedometer working. It goes up, peaks at 5.711, then at 7.183, 8.276, then 12.71, then it just keeps going up a few seconds after (which I'm assuming is just Bosh falling of the track).
Spoiler:
EDIT: The forward/reverse slider is also seeming to affect it like it should, just can't see it
EDIT2: I had to rollback my driver right after I posted this, so the display adapter is actually version 8.753.2.0, still same problem

No matter what the settings for anti-aliasing in the NVIDIA Control Panel are, Bosh looks like this for me:
