HC3 is out. ;_;
Works better for me tbh, better compatibility with codecs and such.

EDIT:
Oh. HC2 is free =O

Aspi is right, THERE IS NO VIRUS.

pretty interesting tutorial actually. I kinda always just thought you had amazing computer that could run massive lines at 40FPS xD

Oh. HC2 is free =O

#1 HC2 is free (if it wasn't, I would've made it Wink)
#2 HC3 is some crap at Win7, at least for me. Idk what's wrong with it (might be the crack D: )

@Polarix: About 2-3 years, using all the different versions, and none of the est. 5 virus scanners I have had have (combo) ever detected any virus(es).
Your prolly does because HC2 creates files, which may be suspicious. But in this case, it's harmless, wanted .avi files Wink

Great tutorial Aspi33! It sounds very advanced and proffesional, but I'm happy with my recordings so I keep it that way!

EDIT: I sticks to the easy ways (for now)....

Hmm... this doesn't work for me. Sorry to bump an old thread but I need some assistance..

Basically, it told me 'Cannot install SCLS.inf' or something. So I went to the directory and made my user the owner; it appeared to work. Same with 'Cannot install SCLS.dll' so I did the same. Then a pop-up appears saying 'Installation failed', then it says 'MSU blabla codec v1.2 installed successfully'. I did an 'Um.. ok..' face, then proceeded to the next step which was to open HyperCam 2 and look for the codec. But it wasn't to be found. And that is where I am so far. Help?

^ the same thing happened to me. it's ok if you use autoselect and 30fps, the codec is just so 40fps playback is possible, but youtube plays at 30fps anyway.

Sorry, that is not correct. It's because it's the best codec for Windows; it features very good compression ratio in proportion to it's quality.

I don't know what causes the problem. It has happened to me too, and I just had to settle down with a different codec at the time. It weirdly enough just worked later.

For alternative codecs, I recommend:
  • HuffYUV
  • FFDShow
  • CamStudio codec
  • Regular Microsoft Video 1 (don't set it to 100%, it will cause the file to become monster-size)
