It's Actually a very simple scenery who looks cool inn speed. I used it in a part in Project X (my newest scened track).

''You should really use bold lines, whatever you creates!''

Totally disagreed. In Walking on a dream by Ssschiller, almost no bold lines were used, and I indicated that in my comment on the track. That was for me pure skill, which is way more difficult than using your bold-lines-style, IMO.

I don't like your style in creating mountains. I think that the details in the mountains would be recognized as a wrong technique of shading because you're not using any lighting. This style is new, because it doesn't involve any rock-likely style, which is pretty common if you talk about making mountains. If you look to Trascendental by TD, you'll know what I mean.

I think I've invented a better way of creating mountains, that doesn't involve any shading what so ever, but still looks good and professional. You'll see it in my next track, so be patient!

You have a good point HP, but the last part of what you said sounds arrogant, especially since nobody has been able to judge your scenery style yet and we don't know how good you are.

TigerLine is right as well about everyone having their own style. The best scenery is original. (and/or realistic looking)

imo tiger is more abstract, and ssschiller is more fantasy...

using alot of bold is a nice way to make it look abstract imo

^ bolding stuff also can make it stick out more, it can add level of depth like say, make hills and as it gets farther off you unbold each hill by one and it looks like it gets farther away 8D

I never bold anything xD so it's not really a necessity (unless ofc you hate my scenery :P)

I prefer to bold. It would just be weird if I didn't...I think. Of course not all things should be bolded. Like Ghosty said it's a good way to create some depth. It's also just some people preference and style.
Anyways, more on topic. It looks pretty cool, but the cross hatching is kinda random and just a filler imo. I also prefer to make my "mountains" or rocks as I would call them more random. Unlikely that rocks would be so perfect and make perfect pyramids. Anti-realism might be your style though. 8D Pretty good tutorial. You did a good job of "teaching". My only complaint is that you called the shading "XY shading" which it wasn't because many of the lines were diagnal and not staright up and/or down. Cross hatching would be the correct term. :P
I don't want you to feel so incredibly criticized. After all, we're not supposed to be helping you. You're supposed to be helping begginners. Smile So +rep for a nice tutorial.

TO COMMANDERCOKE: Thanks a lot!

TO ALL OF YOU: Jepp! I made a new mountain-style/way and I was so happy because I though it look'd cool in speed + it's an easy way for beginners to make mountain-scenery and it wont take long. The stuff with BOLD LINES is true. Bold lines is important in a scened track because it gets things smoother, more sticky out, deeper, easier to see and so on...

Thanks for great tips!
