Sky's the Limit - TCR Empty Re: Sky's the Limit - TCR

Post by Opal Rider Fri Jun 26, 2015 9:43 am

Very Happy I have five minutes before I need to leave for work, and I'll update this later. But that was amazing.

EDIT: I feel like my main problem with quirk, and especially fast paced quirk, always becomes predictable when it comes to direction. This didn't do that. This took that concept and turned it on its head, and really gave me reason to want to watch it again just to catch the little bits where I realized "I didn't quite catch that, but at the same time it's just so cool!" A lot of the time I say this in a bad way, mostly because I'm a nub when it comes to breaking apart quirk, but the fact that it was done with varied movement instead of sheer technicality made it enjoyable whether I was able to understand the intricacies or not.

Really awesome track. I think my favorite part was the fragmented pinch (or w/e) at 1:03. The bounceback moment at 1:12 was nice too.

This was just so dang entertaining to watch. Great job! I live for the compact stuff and the compact stuff was beautiful, but that was a great speedup and faster section too. Nice job on the Aspi foot loop as well.

Fine by me, i often use FP9 for big scenery projects cos the scenery glitch thing doesn't happen with it.

This is already one of my recent favorites! Everything I ever wanted from a TCR track is in here. For real, this was so good. So powerful, yet so elegant. The manuals were really smooth and fit perfectly too. Thumbs Up

Sky's the Limit - TCR Empty Re: Sky's the Limit - TCR

Post by ScrungleBlumpkus Sat Jun 27, 2015 8:31 am

you didn't directly copy four things I incorporated in Inhibitions and then not mention me^ you invented it, but I used it. But we can forget about the fragmented pinches leading up to a reversal, that was original

I feel like this was you trying to "git back" in the times. Like, it's uncanny how much it feels like you were simply trying to see if you could also do all the new tricks you've seen. I don't discourage it, I applaud it. I don't know what your goal here was with this track, but the first bits before the fling quirk started felt fresh, new, and original. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, a direct tip of the hat of my latest (or so it seems). I'm not upset I've not been mentioned but there's no reason to copy something that eerily accurately unless that's the intrinsic goal. so I ask you..... why, exactly? I can see it being an accident, at any rate.

EDIT: Okay I've watched it several times now. I can see three different contributing factors to a possible intended message, tell me if I'm wrong: You were trying to become good again and catch up, you were experimenting with different things and wanted to try lots of things and lost motivation to finish them off, like the blue line connection thing after the cannon.
Conclusion: Half-assed attempt at incorporating the different new things that have recently been invented, thus the name?
Nonedited portion:

Other than that, which is very hard for me to miss and something I'm not sure how I feel about, this was very fun to watch. The quirk was powerful but not overwhelming, the manuals provided a clear and obviously intentional contrast to the powerful stackblasting bits (in an almost direct tip of the hat to Cataclysmic Andromedus Feel, I now realize... what the fuck is going on here? At least you did it better than I did there.), and the ending was the classic sheldom ending. Let's not forget the epic 2nd pos inv foot fling from valence you put in there Smile
Where's your sense of class? Listing yourself as your own inspiration...Wink
FINAL EDIT: Okay, I know how I feel about it now. If I DID inspire this in any way, I'm honored. If not, I resign to "great minds think alike." This had excellent syncing either way!

Excellent job.

Sky's the Limit - TCR Empty Re: Sky's the Limit - TCR

Post by Wizzy Sun Jun 28, 2015 5:00 pm

I have a couple things to say but I will start by saying:

Bruh, the sky's the limit but that track was
Spoiler:

For all the cool tricks and stuff that has already been mentioned (such as the fragmented pinch, the reverse kram cannon, etc.) I will saaaay there were things I didn't like about this track.

Ironically I didn't like how compact the beginning was. I felt it was too closed in like there wasn't enough space and Bosh seemed like he was getting stuck in a couple of places but wormed his way out. There are definitely moments where it looks like you weren't sure what to do or what direction to go next and it resulted in an awkward squish or a barrel roll/squish or something. For whatever reason when Lukking or someone other does the compacted stuff it seems to work but in your case, and I don't mean to compare you to other track makers but I think it's relevant in this style of track, it just felt too closed in like Bosh was really trying to catch his breath. However once it did break out of the compact space after the aspi foot loop, that's where the track really shined. You are quite creative with the kramual-flingy style of track making, and I think that's where your strength is and where you should've focused more on. Very cool tricks and reverse kram thingy and the other fling thingys and the jello pudding and ya. I didn't like though how quickly it ended, it seemed like the track was just getting started and it was really picking up and then it just ends with another kramual, which by god I am tired of seeing that stall can we please stop doing that. But that's just my opinion. And I get it's just a fun little manuquirk and not a full-length thing but I think it would've been better for the track if it had gone on longer. But that would be more work I get it it's not fun to make.

The compact stuff didn't really work, at least for me, but the flingyness is where I think your strength is and where you should work in more because I think you could make some really awesome, creative stuff. Overall though great job on it.

I have the exact opposite mindset about the compact parts, ofcourse there are parts i dont like in there aswell but i kind of didnt like how i ended the track with a highspeed part.

Post by Wizzy Mon Jun 29, 2015 6:51 pm

I just meant in this track I think some of the compact stuff would have looked cooler if it were more spaced out and you got to see a little more clearly the cool tricks and stuff and you give yourself more space to work with so there isn't much doodling here and there.

Idk. Its prob just me. To me it felt like it would've been cooler if everything wasn't so jammed closed together.
