SOL file batch

Post by Pawel3 on Thu Mar 19, 2015 4:46 pm

I came up with an idea how to open .sols simply by double-clicking them becuase I personally hate typing "savedLines" everytime.

Basically what i did is store all the .sols in a different folder (the name doesn't matter) and just copy those files to localhost to open them. I just automated that with a sexy .bat :P

1.Move all your .sols to a new folder
2.Open notepad and paste this:
Spoiler:
@echo off

set localhost=C:\Users\P\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\KQXXX3H9\localhost
set LR=C:\Users\P\Documents\6y.2.swf
set FP=FlashPlayer14.exe

:while
tasklist /fi "IMAGENAME eq %FP%" 2>NUL | find /I /N "%FP%">NUL

if %ERRORLEVEL%==0 (
echo Flash Player is running!
echo Save your stuff and close it, please!
pause
echo.
goto :while
)

cd "%localhost%"
del /f /q *.*

copy %1 "%localhost%"
ren "%localhost%\*" "savedLines.sol"

start %LR%

cls
echo Now minimise this window and have fun! Just don't close it, it'll do it automatically once you've closed FP.

:while2

tasklist /fi "IMAGENAME eq %FP%" 2>NUL | find /I /N "%FP%">NUL
if %ERRORLEVEL%==0 goto :while2

del %1
ren "%localhost%\*" "%~nx1"
move "%~nx1" "%~dp1"

3.Save it with a .bat extension
4.Make your .sol files open by default with that .bat file (Rclick -> open with... , and if there is no such option, just double click the .sol and chose a program manually)
5.The .bat contains some personal information. There are 3 variables after the "@echo off" command:

  • localhost: your localhost path
  • LR: your LR path. it can either be a .swf, or the flash player app
  • FP: your flash player process name. Just open FP, go to task manager and find the process name in "Processes".

Make sure to save that
6.You're done! to acces a .sol, open your folder and double-click a file Wink

I have a similar setup that I at first used an authotkey script gfor and then switched to batch. Very Happy I tried to make mine have other features, including the ability to open any .sol from any location or to be able to backup files with a hotkey, buuut I got lazy :3
Makes me wanna go look at the source of the game, messing with computers!

You're such a bro.

Make sure you tell people that they absolutely ahve to be using standalone for this unless they want to modify the file manually in ways we cannot help with. Also, I'd recommend reminding people to be wary of the localhost's volatility in the first place. Smile

was this because our collab Hehe

Works Smile Nice batching, friend!

Except it doesn't work past any directories with spaces in the names. I don't remember the workaround to this problem.
